The New Zion Men’s group consists of a group of men who want to discuss and study biblical and current issues that affect men.
About 9 years ago a group of around nine or ten men met during Sunday School in the fellowship hall at church to study and discuss books that had to do with men and how to live a Christian life in today’s world.
The Measure of a Man was one of these books. In the book are 20 attributes of a Godly man. These qualities are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
The group now meets one Saturday a month at a local café in Baltimore. We have breakfast and devotions and group prayer. An outreach project we just completed was raising money to purchase devotionals for military personnel who are currently serving in the armed forces. This daily devotional book is called “Strength to Serve.” Over $130.00 was collected to send to the troops through the United Methodist Men’s national organization.
One of our latest mission projects was to collect money for care packages for our church college students and for our military personnel during the Advent season.
